Small steps like drinking lavender water and a daily yoga practice help to restore the body and mind to a state of balance.
Throughout our day, we have multiple moments when the body, the tissues, the cells, and the mind become starved of oxygen, we can become dehydrated and sluggish. It is my belief that through yoga, pranayama and consuming at least four eight ounce glasses of water a day that our system is stimulated to flush wastes and toxins from the body. The byproduct of this small daily ritual is a feeling of overall well-being.
Here is a small step to assist in restoring physical and emotional balance to the body: add the juice of one lime or lemon and three teaspoons of molasses to 8 ounces of hot water. The lime juice serves the body to cleanse it of phlegm and waste, whereas the molasses increases the body’s iron and mineral supply.
If you are new to yoga, start small and build on your practice, if plain water is hard to take in, then add, lime juice, lavender, rose petals or mint. Get on your mat every day and start with a series of Sun Salutations, these primary postures and increase water will reset the emotional center in your mind, help your feel restored, get blood flowing to the muscles and stimulate the flow of prana.
Enhance your life. Set a positive intention, create a beautiful clean place to practice and the rest will fall into alignment. It is really that simple.
